The Bert Berns Story, on Thursday, March 20th at 7:30 pm, featuring the attendance of Director Brett Berns, who will introduce the film and participate in a Q & A after the screening. This film is screened in partnership with the Miami Jewish Film Festival.

Narrated by Steven Van Zandt, the film tells the story of the man behind some of the most iconic hits of the ’60s—songs like Twist & Shout, Piece of My Heart, Hang On Sloopy, and Here Comes the Night. Though his name remains unknown to many, his music shaped the sound of rock and soul, launching the careers of legends like Van Morrison and Neil Diamond.

Through rare performance footage and candid interviews with those who knew him best—including Keith Richards, Paul McCartney, Ronald Isley, Solomon Burke, and Ben E. King—filmmakers Brett Berns & Bob Sarles paint an intimate portrait of his late father’s genius and the gritty, high-stakes world of the recording industry.
